High Tea Etiquette
Do you eat finger sandwiches with your fingers? Should you put the milk in first or the hot water? Should you actually extend your finger while sipping tea?
Fairholme College is hosting the Women on the Land High Tea at the 2017 Queensland Beef Expo. This feature is a wonderful opportunity to network with other like minded superwomen and a great array of inspirational guest speakers. The High Tea will include a glass of champagne, tea & coffee and sweet & savoury treats. To help you get prepared for this event feature, we’ve done some research into the do’s and don’ts of high tea etiquette!
Eat finger sandwiches with your hands. They’re specifically designed to be eaten as such and therefore were named finger sandwiches.
Stir your tea delicately and avoid clinking the spoon against the china. If you see cracks starting to develop in the china, perhaps you may have been a tad overzealous.
Enjoy your tea or coffee and treats at a leisurely pace.
Add the milk first. Milk is ideally added after the tea and hot water as to properly guage how much milk is need to balance the strength of the brew. Though this is one of the most hotly debated of topics between all tea drinkers!
Dunk your biscuits
Plan a big dinner for after the function, you may be too stuffed!
Regardless, this High Tea is a good excuse for us ladies to get dressed up, enjoy good food and great company! Make sure you get in early to purchase your ticket to the Women on the Land High Tea at the 2017 Queensland Beef Expo!
