Off Road Driver Safety Tips to Avoid Litigation
If you think farm safety is someone else’s problem, you’re wrong. Every time one of your staff gets in one of your vehicles under your direction and something goes wrong then you could be exposed to enormous financial loss.
Safety within agriculture and industry generally is often seen as an overwhelming challenge but if you adopt some simple processes and implement some basic training and awareness strategies then you will not only create a protection buffer for yourself but you will also be better equipping your staff for their role ; especially if it involves getting on a farm bike, a quad bike, an off road side by side vehicle, golf buggy or four wheel drive.
At this years’ Queensland Beef Expo a series of daily presentations linked to vehicle demonstrations on a purpose built track will serve to better equip people on the land as well as people involved in other professions like surveying, forestry management, resort and recreational property management and maintenance and virtually anything where these vehicles are used.
The Australian Offroad Academy will be talking and demonstrating all things safety with 4x4s, side by side utility vehicles, quad bikes, and farm bikes on the outdoor course at the event. Showing how to control your vehicle on different terrains, safety tips and tricks, plus how to get your vehicle out of precarious positions will be the main focus. They will also be offering refresher a CPR course prior to their demonstrations on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for just $10, places are limited so get in quick and register with Dave Darmody on 1300 725 440 or to book online click here.
Thinking about safety and making it a part of everything you do on your farm is important. Make your farm a safer place, make sure you check out the Safety Forum and Demonstration Area for Offroad Vehicles at the 2017 Queensland Beef Expo and Farming Field Days
