Cattleman’s Bar & Moathouse
The Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland announced today that the Cattleman’s Bar and Moathouse will open during the Beef Expo as a Steakhouse during the event from the 30th August to the 1st September. Patrons will have the opportunity to try either a grass or grain fed 250g rump steak as part of the field days.
The grass fed “Lee Pratt” rump is produced at the Northern Co-O portative Meat Company in Casino Northern NSW. The cattle are selected from British bred animals from the grazing country around Ebor, Dorrigo and the New England Region. They are MSA graded and aged for a minimum of 21 days in cryovac packing before being portioned. They have beautiful grass fed flavours from young tender breeds that are guaranteed to please.
The grain fed “JBS Your Choice” rumps are from older animals that have been grain fed for 120 days before being processed at Beef City in Aubigny. All cattle have been sourced from the Darling Downs and Western Queensland and have been aged for a minimum of 21 days in cryovac packing before being portioned into 250g steaks. Those rumps are larger than the grass fed and deliver the tenderness that is characteristic of grain fed beef.
Both steaks, which have been supplied by Qld Choice Meats are available between 12pm and 2pm at the Cattleman’s Bar and include a baked potato, salad and choice of sauce plus a beer, soft drink or wine from the RASQ Wine Show for only $20.
